\"\"The Port Authority of \u0160ibenik has initiated the preparation process for the implementation of the project \"Modernization of the port area of the Port of \u0160ibenik\", which consists of works in the passenger and cargo parts of the Port of \u0160ibenik, with a total value of 182 million kuna, and the building of the maritime-passenger terminal (PPT) is a part of that project. The construction of the Vrulje quay extension - PPT building for domestic and international maritime traffic, i.e. a medium-sized maritime border crossing point with the arrangement of traffic surfaces and installations, constitutes Phase III of the previously initiated Project for the modernization of the infrastructure of the Port of \u0160ibenik, which is divided into three phases, of which Phases I and II - construction of berths for international and domestic maritime traffic - were completed, and the occupancy permit was issued in 2015.<\/p>

The investor is the Port Authority of \u0160ibenik. The project relates to activities related to improving the functions of maritime ports for which port authorities are directly responsible, primarily the construction of the PPT, which is necessary for the functioning of the port and in line with the activities carried out in ports: embarkation and disembarkation of passengers and other economic activities that are in immediate economic, transport and technological connection with the activities of the port (provision of passenger services, port agency services, representation in the customs procedure, etc.). The aim of this part of the project is to upgrade the infrastructure that improves traffic management and safety, control of maritime traffic and related activities. The ultimate goal of the project is to improve the connectivity of islands in the \u0160ibenik archipelago and their integration into a broader transport network through better transport services and overcoming key obstacles to local economic growth.<\/p>
