Founded in Rome on June 11th, 1996, MedCruise is an association of Mediterranean "cruise" ports. The role of MedCruise is to promote cruising in the Mediterranean and surrounding seas.
Until today, the association has 73 members and represents 72 ports in the Mediterranean and its surroundings, including the Black Sea, the Red Sea, and part of the Atlantic.
Some of the main objectives of the MedCruise association are:
Promoting the Mediterranean as a cruise destination.
Increasing the efficiency of members by sharing technologies and experiences related to passenger traffic and promoting tourism in cruise port areas.
Increasing the efficiency of members by informing them about industry developments, statistics, practical experience in port development and management.
Formulating common positions, rules or plans related to common interests in the field of cruising.
Developing and strengthening good relationships and cooperation among all global cruise ports and the cruise industry.
Creating quality service through ports of different sizes, diverse regions, countries, and cultures.
Creating marketing, networking, and professional development tools and forums for members.
